"I need a drink."
That must have been the most used phrase I've had the past few weeks...but that doesn't mean I'm miserable. It's not my fault I think of that more often than I could ever think of you. LMAO.
Living alone away from home could get tough. Being homesick, and dying from all the pressure life gives you, sometimes all you'll need is a great company, amazing food, and alcohol.
The past few months have been a total "asdfghjkl!" It got me feeling like I was on detox on social life and submerged myself in work (what else?! DUH?!). When finally getting to go out and having a social life apparently made me feel better, and now finding myself just semi-submerging at work (for now).
After all that, I couldn't imagine some of my most difficult moments in life without three things: Family (because we bond by drinking too), my awesome friends, and a bottle of Jack.
Something to laugh or to cry about, the daily stress, each of our dramas in life we face is both soothing and pivotal for me.
What else helps us better than our buddies and some strong drinks?
1) You become (even more) honest
because we know we all hate big fat liars.. ..which just make us all a big fat hypocrite but that's life and that's reality.
2) You know someone will take care of you after all those shots...
....or something like that.
3) You work together to get free drinks
also..that's me trying to flirt.
4) Word Vomit is Real
Keeping a secret will be tougher than ever, and you just have to spit it out!
5) If you act stupid in front of everyone else, you're in it together
Yup! No judgements here! Instead, let's do it together!!
6) Hangover Camaraderie is the B-E-S-T(est)
The videos, photos from last night is a lasting memory to cherish and something to tell your grandkids...Like "when I was your age, I puked in the men's bathroom because that alcohol can't wait to get out any longer..." or "I threw up all over my friend's stuff...because that's what friends are for"
7) Drunk eating
Clogging your arteries on that trip to McDonald's or greasy bowls of noodles will always be the best meals trying to stay alive through the night or after.
8) Everything is an adventure...
....Until someone passes out
9) Your days off from drinking will be the same
From drinking parties to sleeping parties, to "I'm-too lazy-and -tired-to-drink" kind of parties--- all that doing it together like you're conjoined twins without being literally attached together.
10) Who cares??!
Everyone is probably too drunk to even care, so wtf...unless one of you starts drunk texting some a-hole you met... *ew*
Getting drunk with friends is a test of friendship. You'll never know who really cares for you when you're wasted AF at 2 am and when you've missed the last ride home. There will be someone ready to adopt you.
Glad to say that I'm not making this up just to make an excuse to more night outs, but hey, thank God for science that there are a couple of researches and proofs about this! (and this is why I love science)
With the kind of life I have now, I know that there are only two things that I'm chasing---drinks, and dreams. Don't really think I can chase my dreams without a little bit of help from booze and the other way around.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm not an alcoholic.
I only drink on the weekends, during publication season, when I'm bored or when I'm celebrating...I mean, come on, it must be someone's birthday somewhere in the world, so I'm just celebrating with them. So that doesn't really count as being an alcoholic. Right? :p
So remember kids, alcohol is the glue that keeps us together (even for couples).
Stay thirsty!!! But don't forget to drink responsibly, coz we all know that you'd rather wake up at your friend's place than some random guy's place.
