If you follow me on social media, you'd know why and how I ended up writing this topic...
And yes, I have worked four jobs (now I'm just down to working three LOL) and everyone has been asking me, "how do you do it?" and I always reply them with "same question I ask myself EVERY TIME"---which is true though, sometimes I don't even know how I can still have time to do all that and not to mention a line up of events I have to be at during the weekend (which is my day off) or attending it after or before work hours. *dead*
So here it is,
Disclaimer: It will be hectic.
So, some of you may know that I work full time as a dance teacher in Hong Kong, and a marketer of an international, independent art magazine my brother and I have co-founded and an editor for an online dance magazine. That's just the full-time bit, or should I say...those are ALL full time. For the part-time jobs I do, there doesn't seem to be one anymore. Haha! But if it counts, I do manage seven social media accounts (which you need to follow, the link is below). Yes, you read that right, SEVEN.
A typical day would be waking up at 6:30 am (I'm a morning person now) looking forward to that morning cup of cheap 3-in-1 but not-that bad-as-it sounds coffee while daydreaming of getting an actual holiday before I get ready for the day.
I'd be mostly writing or brainstorming for topics to write for the week or getting back to emails in the morning before I hit the shower and run after the ferry to my next job which is teaching kids and adults for the whole day in the city.
Exhausted yet? I'm not even done with the whole day, so chill...
I'd normally get to the studio to teach, looking super fresh (I try, I really try) and my hair tied up nicely in a bun, but get home looking like I've been run over by a chickens as I teach the whole afternoon till night of five to six back to back classes which also means standing and moving for all those hours.
Yes, I'm still alive.
And because I'm an "old woman", I try to sleep as early I can but hell! I'm already sleepy at 7 pm (but I'm still teaching) so I guess sleep should come at around 11 pm, and repeat the whole thing the whole week. *SIGH*
Don't worry, we're getting there...
So like every employee, I get two days off too.
BUT! I'm still working on those days. This is when I a)book meetings with clients for our publication or b) attend art events related to the growth of our publication or sometimes, c) all the above.
Again, I'm still alive!
Oh and that part of squeezing in time for special people in my life to spend time with, which is VERY IMPORTANT and finding a real holiday to take a trip somewhere..which would also normally fall on my days off *send help*
Like this trip coming up to visit my brother in Taiwan. So yes, if you know me and my typical way of flying out, it's a to FLY-RIGHT-AFTER-WORK, and FLY-STRAIGHT-TO-WORK kinda thing.
So yeah, FUN!
You could read that as sarcasm or not, really up to you! Seriously though, it could be "fun!" and "fun?" at the same time. There are times that I would like to throw a big fit for not getting the rest I "think" I need, but when I get too much rest, I get so bored that I would also like to throw a big fit because I'm not used to being bored AF and not doing anything. Like now. So you guys wanna hang? LOL
